Gokarna (Shivaratri)

I was very sad to leave Hampi after 6 days. I would have like at least to meet the sadus Sitaram meditate with them and take some fotos. But the Festival of shivaratri was going to start in the city of Gokarna on the coast 500 km from Hampi.
Gokarna is one of the holiest places in South India. It has another of the Magical Shiva-Lingans. The energy around is amazing! Shivaratri festival celebrates the union of Shiva's energy and Parvarati's energy in the new year so a new cycle of creative energy starts. After 2 days of 24 hours of Pujas two giants Cars (similar to Roman Attack towers) decorated with colourful flowers and flags are pulled by 200 men along the main street while thousands of people throw bananas to the main window in them. if you manage to get in a banana that brings you good look for the rest of the year. I managed only in Parvati's Cars so I should have good luck with girls at least I think. Colours, flowers, music, bananas and sun everyone is full of joy!
